He said the award was intended to acknowledge the governor’s contributions to the party’s growth and encourage continued commitment to party development.
Receiving the award on the governor’s behalf, Kano State Special Adviser on Youth and Sports Development, Sani Musa Danja, expressed appreciation to the APC UK leadership for the recognition.
Danja described the honour as an acknowledgement of Yusuf’s contributions to the growth of the APC and his efforts to promote unity, service, development and progress within the party.
He said the governor had continued to emphasise the importance of strengthening relationships among party members and supporters in Nigeria and the diaspora.
According to Danja, the recognition also reflected the sacrifices and contributions of the people of Kano State and others working towards a united, prosperous and progressive Nigeria.
He commended Doherty and the APC UK leadership for promoting party solidarity and strengthening political engagement among Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.
Danja also conveyed the governor’s appreciation to members of the Nigerian community in the UK for maintaining active connections with Nigeria’s political and developmental affairs.
He reaffirmed that the Kano State Government remained committed to youth empowerment, sports development, the creation of economic opportunities and improving the welfare of residents.
The event also featured the inauguration of the UK chapter of the Tinubu Must Stay Organisation, a support group established to mobilise backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and strengthen diaspora participation in support of his leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The inauguration marked another effort to organise supporters of the president within the Nigerian diaspora community ahead of the 2027 general elections.
