Appeal Court Judgement: APC Legal Team Accuse NNPP Lawyers of Creating Chaos

The All Progressives  APC Legal Team in Kano has condemned the actions of some self proclaimed “volunteer lawyers” for challenging the Appeal Court judgement which sacked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The Secretary of the legal team, Hadiza Nasir Ahmad made the position of the team known while addressing a World Press Conference in Kano on Wednesday.

She described as disheartening the action of those lawyers who challenged the Appeal Court’s decision on the governorship election by neglecting the vital principle of refraining from public discussion on the ongoing legal matters.

“The sole, recognized association for lawyers is the esteemed Nigerian Bar Association. It’s disheartening to witness these lawyers challenge a court decision while neglecting the Vital principle of refraining from public discussions ongoing legal matters,” she said.

The APC lawyers, therefore, implored the “200 lawyers” to rise above political machinations and allow the court to execute its duties without external interference.

They alleged that the NNPP, its supporters and lawyers are actively campaigning and calling for demonstrations to protest the Appeal Court decision which aimed at creating chaos in the state, with the primary goal of intimidating the Court and the judiciary into granting judgement in their favour.

“As guardian of justice, lawyers must preserve the integrity of our noble profession, even when faced with unfavorable judgements. Let us collectively champion the rule of law and uphold the dignified essence of our legal system,” Ahmad said.

The team, however expressed full confidence in the court’s unwavering commitment to conducting the case solely on its merit, undeterred by such antics.

They commended the security forces for their relentless effort in maintaining law and order in the state.
