Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf commiserate with the family and entire people of the kano state over the death of Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’Abba a former Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, who passed away.
This is contained in a condolence message issued by Kano state govornor Spokesperson, Alhaji Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor Yusuf described the deceased as a true democrat who worked relentlessly to ensure the thriving of democracy, good governance, respect for rule of law and championing the course of the common man.

The Governor added that his death has created a wide vacuum difficult to fill not only in the extended Na’Abba family and Kano state but in the entire country as his contributions in strengthening democracy in Nigeria and beyond would continue to be remembered and commended.
May the Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest, Jannatul Firdausi be his final abode and may HE give the family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

In another development, the executive governor of Niger state Mohammed Umar Bago has condoled with the Kano and Ondo state Governments over the death of the former Speaker, House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’abba and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The condolence message which was contained in a statement signed and issued to Newsmen in Minna by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim, described the death of Ghali Na’abba and Rotimi Akeredolu as a colossal loss not only to their states and Nigeria alone but to the Nation’s democracy.
Bago acknowledged the immense contributions of the late former Speaker to the growth and development of Kano state in particular and Nigeria in general.
He observed that the deceased Ghali Na’abba was a courageous and dynamic legislator whose wealth of experience in the political landscape of Nigeria will be greatly missed.
Bago also described as shocking the passing away of his Ondo state counterparts late Rotimi Akeredolu.
He said his contribution to the progress of ruling APC couple with strong will demonstrated by the deceased in providing purposeful leadership to people of Ondo state even on his sick bed is a virtue to reckon with.
Farmer Governor Umar Bago however prayed for the reposed of their souls and for Allah to grant their family members the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the House of Representatives Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, has described late former Speaker house of Representatives Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’abba, as dedicated, committed and patriotic Nigerian who served his fatherland with zeal.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Malam Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Abbas said late Ghali Na’abba was one of the finest lawmakers to have served in the National Assembly.
The speaker also recalled how late Ghali Na’Abba, had an eventful tenure as the Speaker of the 4th House, noting that his legislative exploits shaped Nigeria’s democracy, brought unity and stability to the House.
He maintained that the 4th House under the leadership of late Na’abba has championed the first and only successful veto of a sitting president, leading to the establishment of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.
While commiserating with the people and government of Kano State, Speaker Abbas prayed to Allah to grant late Ghali Na’Abba, Jannatul Firdaus and give the family the fortitude to bear loss.
Late former Speaker Ghali Na’abba, represented Kano Municipal Federal Constituency of Kano State, became the Speaker following the resignation of Salisu Buhari shortly after the inception of the 4th Assembly in 1999.
Similarly, Speaker Dr Abbas Tajuddeen has has expressed grief over the death of Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu of Ondo State, saying it is a painful loss.
He extended his condoled the Akeredolu family, the people, and government of Ondo State prayed to God to grant him eternal rest.
The Speaker also described Akeredolu as a brilliant legal minds in the ruling party, a champion of the rule of law, democracy and true federalism and a leading human right activists that fought against military rule, leading to the return of democracy in 1999.
