Supreme Court Verdict is A Victory to Democracy — Zamfara Governor

Governor Dauda lawal of Zamfara State has described the supreme court’s verdict as a victory for democracy and the development of the country in general.

Dauda Lawal who was represented by the state’s Deputy Governor Malam Mani Mummuni at a press conference held at his office, in Gusau, the state capital.

He said that, the judiciary has proven itself to be the last hope for the common man and commended them for their foresight.

Governor Dauda further explained that, what happened at the Apex court would forever be remembered by all those who wish the country well and the Nigerian democratic system.

He warned party supporters and loyalists to desist from any form of celebrations that would turned to chaotic situation or riot.

The Governor also urged the good people of the state to intensify prayers for the development of democracy, state, and the country at large as well the current security challenges to become thing of the past.

Commenting on the insecurity situation in the state, the Governor also reaffirmed the state government’s stand of non negotiation with the bandits, adding that, government would fight them to zero level.

The ancient city of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital remained calm and there were jubilations all over the state by the PDP supporters and party loyalists commending the judges of the supreme court for their verdict.

It could be recalled that, on Friday the Supreme Court upheld the election of Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party as the winner of the Zamfara 2023 governorship poll.

The five-member panel of justices in a judgment read by Justice Emmanuel Agim, set aside the judgment of the Court of appeal that declared the election inconclusive.
