The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofarmat, announced that the Kano State Ministry for Higher Education would collaborate with the Dala Old Girls Association Class ’89 (DOGA) to support government efforts towards enhancing women’s education.
Dr. Yusuf Kofarmata revealed this on Friday, during a visit by executive members of the association to his office, where they presented an award of appreciation for his eminent commitment to enhancing tertiary institutions in the state.
The commissioner commended the association for their contribution to educational development in the state, stating, “I have taken time to notice and monitor your activities and programs, such as the provision of learning materials, classroom furniture, and building of classrooms, among others,” Kofarmata said.
In a statement signed by the public relations officer, Kano state ministry of higher education Sanusi Abdullahi kofar Na’isa, the commissioner emphasized that based on the association’s track record, the government would like to collaborate with DOGA, welcoming the present administration of Abba Yusuf with individuals, government, and groups focused on educational development to move the state forward.
He assured them of all necessary support in that direction, thanked them for the visit, and promised to keep his door open for critical suggestions.
Hajiya Amina Muhammad, DOGA Class ’89 Chairperson, mentioned that they were at the commissioner’s ministry to congratulate Governor Abba Yusuf through the commissioner for reclaiming the people’s mandate in the Supreme Court victory. She expressed their unflinching support for government policies and programs, especially in education, urging the government to redouble its efforts in that direction.

Fulani Hafsa Ado Bayero, a strong member of the association and also the wife of the commissioner, Dr. Kofamata, described the visit as a valuable bridge connecting the state government and DOGA, aiming to enhance education, especially for women, in the state.
The visit concluded with the presentation of an award to the commissioner and the crowning as ‘Garkuwan DOGA.’
