The plane carrying the vice president of Malawi Saulos Chilima went missing.
The Malawi’s Defense force aircraft left the capital Lilongwe on Monday morning, but lost contact 10 minutes before it was due to land at Mzuzu international Airport in northern part of the country.
Meanwhile, a search and rescue operation has been launched, and President Lazarus Chakwera has cancelled his scheduled flight to the Bahamas after being informed of the incident.
Authorities have yet to make contact with the aircraft since it went off the radar, and report say the cause of the disappearance is currently unknown, and an investigation is underway.
