Governor Yusuf Approves Appointments Into Kano Sports Commission, Kano Pillars Board

The executive Governor of Kano state Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of members into the Kano State Sports Commission and the Management Board of Kano Pillars F.C. as part of efforts to reposition sports administration and youth development in the state.

The approval was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

According to the statement, the appointments are aimed at strengthening sports development, promoting professionalism and restoring the glory of Kano Pillars Football Club.

The newly constituted Kano State Sports Commission has Alhaji Tukur Babangida as Chairman, while other members include a representative of ALGON, Alhaji Balarabe Surajo (Wamban Karaye), Ibrahim Abba, Auwal Surajo, a representative of persons with disabilities, Sunusi Ismail and Sani Musa Danja, Special Adviser on Youth Affairs.

Bashir Maizare was appointed as Secretary of the commission.

Similarly, Governor Yusuf approved the constitution of the Management Board of Kano Pillars Football Club with Ahmad Musbahu appointed as Chairman.

Other members of the board include Abba Galadima, Sharu Inuwa Rabiu, Fatima Ibrahim Abubakar, Bashir Idris, Abubakar Isa Dandago, Salisu Muhammad Kosawa and Ahmed Musa, who will serve as Sports Ambassador.

Additional members of the board are the Chairman of Kano Pillars Fans Club, Jamilu Tijani Yamadawa, Engr. Usman Mustapha K/Na’isa, Murtala Umar and Kabiru Usman.

Governor Yusuf charged the appointees to deploy their wealth of experience, expertise and commitment toward strengthening sports administration and identifying young talents capable of projecting Kano State at national and international levels.

The governor also urged the new leadership of the Sports Commission and Kano Pillars Football Club to work collectively toward restoring excellence, discipline and professionalism within the state’s sporting sector.

According to the statement, the administration remains committed to supporting youth empowerment and sports development as part of broader efforts to promote social and economic growth in Kano State.

Governor Yusuf expressed confidence that the newly appointed officials would usher in a new era of achievement, professionalism and renewed success for Kano sports and Kano Pillars Football Club.

Sports stakeholders in the state have continued to express optimism that the new appointments would strengthen sports administration and improve the performance of Kano Pillars in domestic football competitions.
