Kano Zoo Sets to Make Sallah Festival Colorful

The Kano state zoological garden and Wildlife Management Agency says all arrangements have been concluded to make the forthcoming eid-el-fitr sallah festival a joyful one.

This statement was made by the Managing Director (MD) of the Zoo, Honarable Lawan Jinjiri Kurmawa, while receiving the newly posted public relations officer to the Agency.

The MD assured the Kano residents and visitors alike that the Zoo would make their Sallah festivities exciting and memorable.

Going down the memory lane of history, Honarable Lawan Jinjiri noted that the Zoo was establish in 1971 and opened to the public in 1972 by the state military Governor Late Alhaji Audu Bako with about 75 different species comprising about 350 animals, including mammals, herbivores, carnivores, reptiles and birds.

In statement signed by Public relations officer of the garden Faruk Isa Musa said “As a family-friendly, Kano Zoo has an amusement park where children can have fun.”

“To provide quality services to visitors, the Zoo, under the leadership of Hon. Lawan Jinjiri Kurmawa recently acquired a brand new children ride for kids’ maximum enjoyment.”

Moreover, the Zoo has a botanical garden, full of different types of trees, flowers and shrubs that provide a serene environment for a quality time to be enjoyed individually or with friends.

Honarable Lawan Jinjiri Kurmawa urged good people of the state to fully utilize the facility all year round, not only during Sallah festivities and holidays.
