Suspected Boko Haram Members Attacks Some Communities in Niger

The people of Zongoro community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state have been under attack by suspected Boko Haram members.

They were attacked yesterday by the Boko Haram members who stormed the area in their large number carrying dangerous weapons firing gunshots on air to scare the villagers.

It was however gathered that the suspected Boko Haram members have later proceeded to Lolo village on their motorcycles where they slept at a village which is just ,two kilometers away from Bassa.

At the moment the Boko Haram were said to have occupied two villages of Lolo and Taimako executing their nefarious act un checked.

At the time of filling in this report the number of casualties were yet to be ascertained.

In a telephone interview Niger state Commissioner Homeland Security Brigadier General Garba Abdullahi Mohammed said the bandits were not left unchecked as the state government remain resolute in addressing this problem.

He however gave an assurance that the police and DSS are on the top of the matter.

General Mohammed said on the interim Niger state government is doing it’s best to resettle those affected by bandit attacks towards providing soccur and relief to them.
