The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Chairman of Nigeria’s Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, wanted over an alleged case of receiving stolen property.
Maina, 61, was declared wanted in a public notice issued by the anti-graft agency and signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale.
According to the EFCC, Maina is an indigene of Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Commission urged members of the public with useful information on his whereabouts to contact any of its offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.
The EFCC also provided a telephone contact, 08093322644, and an official email address, info@efcc.gov.ng, for information concerning the wanted former pension reform boss.
The Commission further asked anyone with relevant information to approach the nearest police station or other security agencies.
Maina became widely known in Nigeria through his role as Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, a position from which he was involved in efforts to reform the country’s pension administration and address alleged irregularities in the sector.
The EFCC’s latest notice, however, concerns an alleged case of receiving stolen property. The notice did not provide further details of the specific allegations or circumstances surrounding the case.
The anti-graft agency urged members of the public who have credible information about Maina’s whereabouts to promptly communicate with the appropriate authorities.
The declaration is an allegation by the EFCC and does not, by itself, establish criminal guilt.
