Thousands of supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday converged on the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano for the inauguration of the leadership of the Tinubu Support Groups (TSG) 2.0, amid a massive mobilisation of political leaders and grassroots supporters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, organised by the Director-General of Tinubu Support Groups in charge of the North-West, Hon. Dr Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, brought together APC leaders, elected officials, political stakeholders and supporters in a major show of support for President Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.
The gathering was attended by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, and the Founder of Tinubu Support Groups, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

Also present were Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf; Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin; Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo; Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Isma’eel Falgore, and other political leaders.
The event also attracted former Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Member of the House of Representatives for Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi; commissioners, local government chairmen, councillors, members of the National and State Assemblies, as well as APC leaders at state, local government and ward levels.
A major highlight of the gathering was the reception of prominent politicians and their supporters into the APC, signalling another political realignment in Kano ahead of the 2027 elections.
Those received into the APC included Senator Rufa’i Sani Hanga, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya and Ali Datti Yako, alongside other political stakeholders who declared their allegiance to the ruling party.
The development further highlighted the growing political activities and realignments in Kano as parties and political groups position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the significance of the mobilisation, organisers said the massive turnout demonstrated the growing grassroots reach of TSG 2.0 and its determination to build a coordinated support network for President Tinubu across the North-West.
The group said its structure would focus on taking the message of the Tinubu administration directly to communities, wards and local government areas while mobilising support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Following the stadium event, Governor Yusuf led the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; TSG Founder, James Abiodun Faleke; former Governor Ganduje and other dignitaries to the newly established TSG headquarters at No. 10 Audu Bako Way, Kano.
The office was formally commissioned during the visit, while the delegation also witnessed the unveiling of campaign vehicles provided through the initiative of Dan’agundi to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and advocacy for President Tinubu, the Kano State Government and other APC candidates.
The inauguration of TSG 2.0 marked a significant political gathering in Kano, combining the unveiling of a new leadership structure with the mobilisation of supporters and the movement of prominent political figures into the APC.
With Dan’agundi’s coordination of the North-West structure, the Tinubu Support Groups are expected to intensify grassroots engagement and mobilisation as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
