The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly cleared Yahaya Adamu Garin-Ali as a frontline aspirant for the Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 House of Representatives election, following his successful completion of the party’s screening exercise at the national headquarters in Abuja.
Party sources and political associates say Garin-Ali, a prominent grassroots politician from Garko Local Government Area of Kano State, scaled through the screening process without objections, strengthening his position within the party’s internal contest for the constituency ticket.
Yahaya Adamu Garin-Ali, who has previously served in various administrative and political capacities in Kano State, is widely regarded as a seasoned grassroots mobilizer with strong influence across parts of Garko and Wudil local government areas.

His supporters say his clearance by the screening committee marks a major milestone in his political journey and reinforces earlier indications that he is being considered among key contenders for the APC ticket in the constituency.
The development follows earlier reports that he had been involved in consensus-building efforts within the party structure in Kano State.
The screening exercise, conducted by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja, is part of ongoing preparations for the party’s primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. Aspirants across various constituencies are undergoing vetting to determine their eligibility and alignment with party guidelines.
Within the Wudil/Garko political bloc, Garin-Ali’s clearance is already generating reactions among supporters and party stakeholders who view him as a strong contender capable of consolidating APC’s influence in the area. The constituency, which covers parts of Wudil Local Government Area and Garko Local Government Area, remains a strategically important electoral zone in Kano State politics.
Political observers note that Garin-Ali’s long-standing involvement in grassroots politics, coupled with his administrative experience in rural development sectors, may give him an advantage as the race for the APC ticket intensifies.
Although the party has not formally announced its final candidate for the constituency, insiders suggest that the screening outcome places Garin-Ali in a strong position ahead of the primaries, where delegates will ultimately decide the flag bearer.
As the political landscape in Kano continues to shape up toward 2027, attention is now shifting to how aspirants like Garin-Ali will consolidate support within the party structure and among delegates in the coming months.
