Earlier reports indicated that the minister’s residence had been attacked during the violence, though his whereabouts at the time were uncertain.

The reported killing comes amid one of the most significant escalations of violence in Mali in recent months, with armed groups launching coordinated strikes in multiple locations.

The attacks have raised fresh concerns over security in the country, where government forces continue to battle Terrorists, insurgents and allied armed groups.
