The Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), Kano State Chapter, has presented a 10-point proposal to the Kano State Sports Commission aimed at strengthening football and other sporting activities in the state.
Ashiru Rabiu Gidan Tudun, the information officer of Kano state sports commission in a statement sent to GLOBAL TRACKER in Kano on Wednesday said the association made the presentation during a congratulatory visit to the Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, following his appointment to lead the commission.
Speaking during the visit, NFCA Kano Chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Gwadabe, said the delegation was at the commission to congratulate Babangida and share recommendations capable of improving the standard of sports in Kano.

Gwadabe commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for supporting coaches in the state, particularly through the payment of tuition fees for coaches attending programmes at the National Institute for Sports (NIS).
He described the initiative as an important investment in human capacity development, saying better-trained coaches would contribute significantly to improving the quality of football and other sporting activities in the state.
The NFCA chairman, however, appealed to the Kano State Government to extend similar assistance to indigenous coaches seeking to obtain the CAF B Coaching Licence.
According to him, supporting coaches to acquire internationally recognised qualifications would help the state produce more competent and professional coaches capable of developing young talents and improving the standard of football.
He stressed the importance of investing in coaches as part of broader efforts to build a sustainable sports development structure in Kano.
Responding, the Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, expressed appreciation to the NFCA delegation for the visit and its contribution to discussions on sports development.
He commended the association for its commitment to the advancement of football in Kano and welcomed the proposals presented by the coaches.
Babangida assured the delegation that the commission would carefully examine the requests and recommendations contained in the 10-point proposal and engage relevant stakeholders towards implementing practical measures capable of advancing sports development in the state.
He said the commission remained committed to working with coaches, athletes, sports associations, supporters and other stakeholders to promote continuous progress in Kano’s sporting sector.
The visit further highlighted the growing emphasis on human-capacity development as a key component of sports development, particularly through professional training and improved coaching standards.
The NFCA’s proposal is expected to contribute to ongoing discussions on how Kano can strengthen its grassroots sports structure, improve talent development and create a stronger pathway for young athletes to progress into professional sports.
The association’s appeal for support for CAF B coaching certification also comes at a time when stakeholders are calling for greater investment in indigenous technical personnel capable of nurturing the next generation of footballers.
The meeting ended with a commitment by both sides to maintain dialogue and cooperation in pursuit of improved football and sports development across Kano State.
