The North-West Development Commission (NWDC) has dissociated itself from information circulating about a purported skills acquisition training programme allegedly being organised and conducted by the Commission.
In a disclaimer issued by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Abdulrashid Y. Safana, on behalf of the management, the Commission urged stakeholders and members of the public to disregard the information as false.
The Commission said preliminary checks established that the programme being circulated was actually a Federal Government initiative under the Investment in Digital Creative Enterprise (IDICE) programme.

According to the NWDC, the IDICE programme is being implemented by the Bank of Industry (BoI) with funding support from the African Development Bank (AfDB), Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
The Commission therefore warned the public against associating it with the purported training programme.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Commission wishes to clear as follows,” the statement said, stressing that the NWDC was not organising or conducting the programme in question.
The Commission further advised stakeholders and members of the public to verify information concerning its programmes through its official communication channels.
It specifically urged the public to visit the Commission’s official website or contact its information desk before acting on information concerning purported NWDC initiatives.
