The Kano State chapter of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) has warned one Bashir Ibrahim Rogo to stop parading himself as the governorship candidate of the party in Kano State or face legal action.
The warning was issued by the Kano State Chairman of the NRM Alhaji Ado Muhammad Gama, who insisted that Bashir Ibrahim Rogo is neither a registered member of the party nor a participant in its official activities.
Speaking on the development, Alhaji Ado Muhammad Gama maintained that the party had not at any time recognized Bashir Ibrahim Rogo as its governorship candidate for Kano State.

The development comes as Rogo in a series of Facebook Post parade himself as governorship candidate of the party without any structure, or official documents to support the claim.
According to him, the NRM in Kano would not hesitate to institute legal proceedings against Rogo if he continued to present himself publicly as the party’s governorship flag bearer.
The chairman stated that the continued use of the party’s name by individuals not officially recognized by the organization could mislead members of the public and damage the image and integrity of the party.
“We will take legal action against him in a court of law if he continues parading himself as the governorship candidate of our party in Kano State,” the chairman reportedly warned.
Gama further disclosed that the National Rescue Movement had already filled all elective positions in Kano State ranging from governorship to State House of Assembly seats with duly registered members who emerged through recognized party structures and due process.
He emphasized that all candidates of the party passed through legitimate screening, internal democratic procedures and official nomination processes before emerging as candidates of the NRM.
According to him, no individual outside the approved party process would be recognized as a candidate of the party under any circumstance.
The chairman also called on members and supporters of the National Rescue Movement in Kano State to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding despite the controversy surrounding the development.
He urged party faithful not to take the law into their hands over the actions of what he described as “irresponsible persons or groups” attempting to create confusion within the party.
Muhammad Gama maintained that the leadership of the party remains committed to lawful political engagement, internal democracy and respect for constitutional procedures.
